EXCLUSIVE: DeVon Franklin is staying in business with CBS Studios and has sold his latest show. The founder of Franklin Entertainment is developing detective drama Grace for CBS after reupping his deal with the studio for another two years.
Franklin, who was behind the Eva Longoria-directed Flamin’ Hot movie, signed his first deal with CBS Studios in 2020 and it was renewed in 2022.
Grace follows a true-blue detective known for his brash, cynical style and a passionate, community-focused pastor who wears her heart on her sleeve reluctantly partner to solve complex crimes as they debate their divergent beliefs while attempting to ignore their growing chemistry.
It is being written by Devon Greggory, showrunner of Paramount+’s revival of The Game who also has a deal at the studio, and Corey Moore, who has written on series including All Rise and NCIS: New Orleans.
