deadline.comEXCLUSIVE: It appears the anticipation for the next Descendants film is on the rise. Within 10 days, the trailer for Descendants: The Rise of Red has generated 86M views across platforms, including the official Descendants social media accounts as well as those for Disney+ and talent.
The trailer has also amassed 4.5M total engagements. That outperforms the Percy Jackson and the Olympians trailer, which saw great success in December, to be Disney Branded Television’s most-watched trailer of all time in that 10-day window.
According to Disney, about 52M views came from TikTok alone, and the franchise’s follower count has been rising across all social platforms.
Descendants: The Rise of Red follows the story of Red, the rebellious daughter of the Queen of Hearts, and Chloe, Cinderella’s perfectionist daughter.
