The Dublin singer-songwriter's new single Paradise - a collaboration with production trio Meduza - is at Number 2 on today's Official Irish Chart Update, and is the most downloaded new release of the week so far.
Dermot has come close to topping Ireland's national Top 50 on two previous occasions, with Outnumbered and Giants both peaking at Number 2 in August 2019 and July 2020 respectively.
Standing in Dermot's way is Ariana Grande, who is hoping to hold onto the top spot for a second straight week with her seventh Number 1 Positions.
