Derek McInnes saluted dynamic duo Kyle Vassell and Marley Watkins for dragging Aberdeen to their knees.The attacking Rugby Park pair left the Dons down and out with a goal each in an emphatic success which launched Kilmarnock into fourth spot in the Premiership.
McInnes revealed that Vassell didn’t train until Friday before bagging his fifth of the campaign to open the scoring.Watkins was even later having just returned the day before the game before adding his fourth of the campaign against his former club.
McInnes was thrilled with their output and said: “That first 15 minutes, Marley looked like he’d not trained all week. He needed to get moving and he was taking too much time.
But when he got in flow, they were relentless with their work. The back three don’t enjoy facing them. There’s knowhow, strength and real quality as you see with their goals.
