Deontay Wilder’s trainer has explained why his fighter snubbed Tyson Fury following their trilogy bout in Las Vegas. The Gypsy King came out victorious for the second time over his opponent after securing an 11th-round stoppage, having also beaten in February 2020 following a draw in their first meeting.
Fury had to come back off the canvas twice during the fourth round, but made Wilder pay as he sent the Bronze Bomber down three times on his way to victory.
Following the fight, Fury attempted to offer his opponent a hand in a show of respect, but took issue with Wilder’s response.
Fury said: "I went over and said well done and he said he didn’t want to show any sportsmanship or respect. Very surprised by that.
