Loose Women star Denise Welch says she couldn't be happier about her son Matty Healy's engagement to model and musician Gabbriette Bechtel, assuring that her future daughter-in-law has her seal of approval.

Chatting exclusively at the Royal Television Society Awards, the proud mum-of-two, 66, shared: "I love my future daughter in love, I love Gabbriette very, very much, she's amazing and we're so happy for them on the engagement." Continuing to say that she's planning a trip to visit the loved-up couple at their Los Angeles home soon, saying, "We're going go out to see them in April." The 1975 guitarist Matty, who has acclaimed global success in the band, was reportedly in a romance with pop superstar Taylor Swift just months before going public with Gabbriette in late 2023.The pair made waves when they stepped out together in September and then sent fans into a frenzy by announcing their engagement in June 2024, with Gabbriette flaunting her black engagement ring on Instagram.
