Neighbours viewers were stunned tonight when Denise Van Outen's character was killed in a fireball. The Neighbours 35th anniversary special week claimed it's first victim as Prue Wallace died in a dramatic explosion.

Prue was in tears as she desperately tried to reach Gary Canning to save their relationship and left an emotional message on his voicemail declaring her love.

She then left another tear-jerking message for Harlow, who was trying to rescue Bea on the island, blaming her for ruining her wedding but then wishing her happiness.

Prue said: "If you ever listen to this you’ll be pleased to know everything has fallen apart for me. I’m lost in the middle of nowhere and don’t know where I am.
