Actress Demi Moore has provided a heartfelt update on her ex-husband Bruce Willis's battle with dementia. Speaking at the 2024 Hamptons International Film Festival in New York, where she received an Acting Award on Sunday, October 13, the 51-year-old opened up about the health of the Hollywood icon. Two years ago, Willis withdrew from his acting career following a diagnosis of aphasia, a condition affecting language and communication.

His condition has since deteriorated, leading to a more specific diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia (FTD).During a live discussion on Sunday, Demi described the 68-year-old Die Hard star as currently 'stable', but candidly expressed that the 'disease is what the disease is'. "What I always encourage is to just meet them where they're at," she advised, as reported by People."When you're holding on to what was, I think it's a losing game.

But when you show up to meet them where they're at, there is great beauty and sweetness." Despite their separation in 1998 after over a decade of marriage, Demi and Bruce have maintained a close friendship and co-parent their three adult daughters, reports the Mirror.

In 2009, Bruce married actress Emma Heming Willis, with whom he has two daughters. Tallulah, one of Bruce's daughters, also spoke to the publication, sharing that her father is 'doing the same' and emphasising her readiness to be 'open to what the visit is'."I'll go visit my dad and spend some time with him," she told People in an earlier conversation.
