Demi Lovato was previously announced as the star of the NBC comedy pilot Hungry, but they will no longer be appearing in the project.
The 29-year-old singer has dropped out of starring in the TV show, but will still continue in their role as an executive producer for the potential series.
The pilot was just about to start production after being announced nearly a year ago. Click inside to find out what happened… Deadline reports that Demi‘s role is going to be recast after they had to bow out “due to scheduling issues.” The hope is that a replacement will be found soon so the pilot can be filmed on schedule.
The show will be directed by Friends and Will & Grace director James Burrows. It “follows a group of friends who belong to a food-issues group helping one another as they look for love, success and the perfect thing in the fridge that’s going to make it all better.” Cast members confirmed for the series are Valerie Bertinelli, Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias, Ryan McPartlin, Alex Brightman, and Ashley D.
