For the first time in months, non-essential shops opened their doors on Monday as some coronavirus lockdown restrictions were eased.
And today, on the first Saturday since the rules were relaxed, the city centre was packed with people heading to their favourite shops.
The M.E.N spoke to some that were out and about - and most were delighted to be among the hustle and bustle of the city centre again.
