Dejan Lovren is close to a move to Zenit St Petersburg. The Liverpool defender has dropped to fourth choice at Anfield this season, and has decided now is the time for a move, as he enters the final period of his career.
Talks are continuing, but Mirror Sport understands the Reds want around £10m for the World Cup finalist. Lovren has just a year left on his contract.
The player almost left Liverpool last summer, amid Roma interest, but the deal collapsed because the Italian club wanted to take Lovren on an initial loan period.
Now, he seems set to move to Russia if terms can be finalised, with the centre-half looking to improve his Anfield wages, which would be around £75,000 a week.
