Deerhoof have announced their new album Future Teenage Cave Artists with two new songs: the title track and “The Loved One.” The album is due out May 29 via Joyful Noise.
Check out both songs below. With the title track, Deerhoof said in a statement that they “wanted to express what it feels like knowing that the rebels are our only hope.
Today’s derelicts, romantics, and children are forced to be tomorrow’s heroes.” Future Teenage Cave Artists comprises 10 original songs and some Johann Sebastian Bach (“I Call on Thee”), for good measure.
The band celebrated its 25th anniversary last year by reissuing its first three CDs—1997’s The Man, the King, the Girl, 1999’s Holdypaws, and 2001’s Halfbird—on vinyl for the first time.
