Deborah James's cancer fundraiser has surpassed £2 million in just two days, leaving the 40-year-old broadcaster "in disbelief".
She recently announced the heartbreaking news that her bowel cancer has become terminal, and she is receiving palliative care at home.Deborah, also known as Bowelbabe, launched the fundraiser for Cancer Research UK.
She also has a popular podcast - You, Me, and the Big C. Deborah had originally aimed to raise £250,000 but has now smashed the target as more than 125,000 people have shown their support and donated.Posting on Instagram, she wrote: "I’m utterly in disbelief to wake up to see £2 million in the fund!
Thank you for your generous donations. Thank you for helping me build a future where we can [show] Cancer who is boss."We have brilliant, enthusiastic talent in this country- let’s support them to do the best job they can to give more people more time living."The money will go to areas Deborah feels particularly strongly about.
