A death row killer used his final statement to apologise to his victim's loved ones and told the warden, ''I am ready to go'' before receiving the lethal injection.

John Henry Ramirez, 38, was executed at Texas State's death chamber in Huntsville on October 5 for the murder of Pablo Castro, 46 in Corpus Christi 2004.

Ramirez brutally killed the father -of-nine who was working night shifts at a convenience store in the Southern Texas city after the brave supermarket employee refused to give him drug money.
