She initially reported to DI Neville Parker, portrayed by Ralf Little, but it wasn't long before she earned her stripes and was promoted to Detective Sergeant.The talented Shantol stepped into the Saint Marie squad in the eleventh series, filling the shoes of the much-adored JP Hooper, played by Tobi Bakare.
Ever since, her character has been pivotal in cracking a host of puzzling murders and played an integral role in welcoming DI Mervin Wilson, enacted by Don Gilet, into the fold.
Her journey to the role of Naomi might have taken a different turn as she had first auditioned for the part of Ruby Patterson, now brought to life by Shyko Amos.
