A drug dealer took desperate measures to hide his stash when police raided his home. But officers had a hunch as to where it might be.
They decided to take Alan Grimes to hospital. Once there doctors discovered that he had concealed a bag containing 19 wraps of crack cocaine and 14 wraps of heroin within his anus.
Grimes and two associates have now been jailed. Grimes, Alan Pierce and Declan Cooney appeared at Chester Crown Court where they were sentenced to a total of 11 years and seven months in prison. READ MORE 'It took us six hours to clean up': City centre park forced to close early after being 'overwhelmed' on hottest weekend of the year Grimes, 56, of Brentfield, Widnes was jailed for four years; Cooney, 26, of Newlyn Road, Liverpool, was sentenced to three years and seven months; and Pierce, of Bolton Avenue, Westvale, Kirkby, was jailed for two years and nine months.
All three men had previously pleaded guilty to two counts of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs. The court was told that on Wednesday October 5th 2022, plain clothes officers spotted a car leaving an address in Widnes which was linked to county lines drug dealing.
