‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ the first R-rated MCU movie, has more than 100 F-bombs

The second entry, released in 2018, featured a mere 90. “Deadpool & Wolverine” marks another milestone — it’s the first R-rated movie in the 34-film MCU.
The previous two filthy flicks were produced by 20th Century Fox.The swell of swears in the third chapter is due, in part, to Hugh Jackman’s ferocious Wolverine entering the fold. “X-Men” fans will recall that the adamantium-clawed mutant had quite the foul mouth in 2017’s “Logan.”That acclaimed romp, directed by James Mangold, boasts about 40 F-words.The rights to both characters (and all of “X-Men”) were previously owned by 20th Century Fox, but were eventually handed over to Marvel Studios when parent company Disney acquired Fox in 2019.Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has said that it’s possible Reynolds, 47, and Jackman, 55, could return as Deadpool and Wolverine in future MCU jaunts.“It’s definitely, ‘Let’s get through this,’ ” he told Collider. “But as we sit here talking, and the movie comes out in a week, and the movie’s been finished for a couple of weeks, there’s certainly been a lot of discussions of, ‘That was fun.
What should we do next?’ ”Deadline reported back in May that a new “X-Men” film was in the works with writer Michael Lesslie of “Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes” in negotiations to write it.
