It’s official. DC drama Dead Boy Detectives is set at Netflix. Originally ordered to series at HBO Max, Dead Boy Detectives, based on the DC Comics characters created by Neil Gaiman, will launch on the streamer.

A premiere date is TBD. Netflix also released a teaser trailer, which will be available shortly. As part of The Sandman Universe for Netflix, the eight-part series is a ghost story that explores loss, grief, and death through the lens of Edwin Payne and Charles Rowland, two dead British teenagers, and their very alive friend, Crystal Palace.

So, it’s a lot like a vintage detective series — only darker and on acid. Here’s the official synopsis: Do you have a pesky ghost haunting you?

Has a demon stolen your core memories? You may want to ring the Dead Boy Detectives. Meet Edwin Payne (George Rexstrew) and Charles Rowland (Jayden Revri), “the brains” and “the brawn” behind the Dead Boy Detectives agency.
