A poster branding Dawn French a 'huge t**t' has been given the seal of approval following a string of 'serious offence' complaints.

The message was part of an advert for the actress and comedian’s upcoming UK tour, seen in The Sunday Times Culture magazine on December 4.

It included a picture of French and text stating: "Dawn French is a huge t**t," before adding: "Back due to phenomenal demand." Two people complained that it was likely to cause serious or widespread offence.

However, it has now been cleared by the advertising watchdog. Promoter Phil McIntyre Live said it was regrettable that the ads had caused offence to the people who complained, but that the title of the show was humorous and aimed any offence at French herself.
