David Moyes says he tried and failed to sign three household names while he was Manchester United boss. The Scot was chosen by Sir Alex Ferguson to be his successor at Old Trafford back in 2013, and left Everton to join United after 11 years in charge.
But after Ferguson's trophy-laden 27-year tenure came to an end, Moyes was to fail to last a full season in charge of the Red Devils, and he was dismissed shortly before the end of the 2013/14 season.
