Alan Kalter, the longtime announcer on The Late Show with David Letterman, has died at the age of 78. Kalter‘s death was confirmed to Variety by Rabbi Joshua Hammerman of Temple Beth El in Stamford, Conn.
It was reported that Alan died at Stamford Hospital with his wife Peggy and his daughters by his side.
For those who don’t know, Alan began his run as the Late Show‘s announcer in September 1995 and he stayed with the show until Letterman‘s exit in May 2015.
