David Gray has been appointed Hibs head coach on a full-time basis after FOUR caretaker stints in the dugout. After filling in following the sackings of Jack Ross, Shaun Maloney and Lee Johnson, Gray was once again handed the reins when Nick Montgomery was given the heave-ho towards the end of the 2023-24 campaign after just nine months in charge.
The Hibs hierarchy announced the controversial appointment of Malky Mackay as director football shortly after Montgomery's departure.
The former SFA technical director was tasked with leading the hunt for a new boss, and he's decided the best option was already in the building, appointing Gray on a three-year deal.
Vast improvements will be demanded by fans ahead of the new season after Hibs finished a lowly eighth in the Premiership last term.
