Legia Warsaw have pulled out of signing Aberdeen defender David Bates for a six-figure fee despite the player undergoing a medical in Poland, according to reports.
Bates didn't play minute of the Dons four Premier Sports Cup games as speculation ramped up over his future in the Granite City amid Jim Goodwin 's revamp of the squad.
Ipswich, Derby County and Bristol City were all touted as possible destinations with Aberdeen set to move the former Rangers defender on just a year after his arrival from Hamburg.
New captain Anthony Stewart and Celtic loanee Liam Scales are the first-choice pairing at the back with Bates way down the pecking order at Pittodrie with youngsters Jack Milne and Mason Hancock receiving more minutes in the group stage games, while new recruit Hayden Coulson can also cover at centre-back.
