Dave Chappelle is back on Netflix with a new comedy special that drops on Dec. 31 and features Morgan Freeman. Dave Chappelle: The Dreamer was filmedin the comic’s hometown of Washington D.C.
at the historic Lincoln Theater. “What do you dream about? Not the dreams you have in your sleep, the ones you hold in your heart,” Freeman’s voice is heard saying in the trailer. “Don’t be intimidated by the audacity of your dream — be inspired by it.” Emmy Award-winning director Stan Lathan returns to direct The Dreamer, having directed all seven of Chappelle’s Netflix specials.
Chappelle has received five Emmy awards including three for his Netflix comedy special Sticks & Stones (2019) and Equanimity & The Bird Revelation (2017), and two for hosting Saturday Night Live.
The comedian is a four-time Grammy winner for The Closer, Sticks & Stones, Equanimity & The Bird Revelation, and The Age Of Spin & Deep In The Heart Of Texas.
