A daughter of a care home resident wrote to social services fearing her mum was going to die after she reportedly fell 32 times in a year.

In the 11 months before her death aged 78, dementia patient Winifred Tubb is said to have had dozens of falls. Her daughter Kylie Gobins said: “She suffered neglect in every way – it was devastating to see”.

As reported by the Mirror, five different families are now taking legal action against St Luke’s care home in Runcorn, Cheshire.

The news follows statistics released by the Care Quality Commission which showed more than 2,500 care homes across the country “require improvement”.
