The body of Jack Leonard Johnson, 26, was recovered from the water on Tuesday December 15 last year. Today, Tuesday April 27, an inquest into his death was formally opened.
The hearing was told that Mr Johnson, who was born in Berkshire and worked as a data scientist, was living at Kelso Place, an apartment block close to the Bridgewater Canal in the St George's Island area of Castlefield, at the time of his death.
