Fletcher, born in Dalkeith, was a Tartan Army hero after making 80 appearances for his country during a successful playing career which saw him sweep five Premier League titles, an FA Cup, a League Cup and a Champions League title at Old Trafford.
Of course, he failed to play in a major tournament for Scotland who qualified for the big stage for the first time in 22 years at Euro 2020; though with his sons Tyler and Jack excelling at youth level, they could continue to carry the baton.
However, dreams of a Scotland pairing may be fading with Tyler being called-up to England's squad - potentially facing his twin.
