The 31-year-old spent the second half of the 2010/11 season on loan at Wanderers from Chelsea and was a revelation. He scored eight goals in 12 games for the Whites under Coyle as Wanderers finished 14th in the table.
After then, Sturridge returned to Chelsea before moving on to Liverpool in January 2013, where he scored 68 games in 160 appearances for the Anfield club.
He spent a brief spell at West Bromwich Albion in 2018 before departing Jurgen Klopp's men in 2019. He joined Turkish side Trabzonspor in 2019 but was released
