Manchester United players Luke Shaw and Daniel James have revealed that the left-back tried to take a penalty off Mason Greenwood in the January victory over Tranmere Rovers.
United beat Tranmere 6-0 at Prenton Park in the fourth round of the FA Cup, with their final goal coming from the spot when Tahith Chong was fouled in the box.
With Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba - United's regular penalty-takers - all off the pitch, it fell to 18-year-old Greenwood to slot home from 12 yards.
