The Swedish billionaire, who set up the music streaming platform in 2002, expressed his desire to buy the club as fans protested against their owners, the Kroenkes, following the European Super League fallout.
Writing on Twitter on Friday, the 38-year-old said: “As a kid growing up, I’ve cheered for Arsenal as long as I can remember.
If KSE would like to sell Arsenal I'd be happy to throw my hat in the ring.” It has now seen him form a consortium with club legends Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp and Patrick Vieira to challenge the Kroenkes’ £2bn valuation.
