Daniel Craig Explains Why He Would Not Have Done 'Queer' During His James Bond Days

Daniel Craig is showing off his creative range with his role in his newest movie Queer. However, the project probably would not have happened for him when he was in the midst of his James Bond days.

The 56-year-old actor famously played the 007 agent in several movies, culminating in 2021′s No Time to Die. During a recent interview, he said that he would not have done Queer at the same time and explained the simple reason why. Keep reading to find out more… “I couldn’t have done this while doing Bond,” he told the Sunday Times, explaining, “It would look reactionary, like I was showing my range.” Daniel added that he felt pressure to take on more work and thought it was “incredible” to get offers when he first started playing Bond.

However, he said that those roles “left me empty.” “Then, bottom line, I got paid. I was so exhausted at the end of a Bond it would take me six months to recover emotionally.

I always had the attitude that life must come first and, when work came first for a while, it strung me out,” he said. The actor recently revealed why he turned down playing Bond initially.
