driver is facing jail over a £50,000 crash after he drove so dangerously his car flipped through the air and smashed into a shop.Imran Akmal, 32, left his brother with a fractured spine after driving at double the 30-miles-per-hour speed limit and ploughing into Ferry Nice Foods.The street where the crash happened - Ferry Road, Renfrew, near Glasgow - had to be closed while officers investigated the smash.And the shop itself had to be closed for 33 days due to damage to the building.Paisley Sheriff Court heard this week that the cost of goods and stock damaged, and trading losses, was £17,422.53.The cost of damage to the building was an additional £30,894.23 - taking the total cost of the crash to £48,316.76.Police Scotland road traffic.
