Early on the morning of Wednesday, February 19, at around 4.30 am, several men in hoodies, including one wearing a mask and carrying a weapon, allegedly entered a Hollywood Hills house where Pop Smoke was staying and fatally shot the rapper.
The 20-year-old was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles, where he died a few hours later. Pop Smoke, who became the first American rapper to adopt the UK drill sound, had posted pictures showing large amounts of cash, designer goods, and a luxury car on social media before he was killed.
His friend Mike Dee also posted images, including one in which the home’s address can be partially seen in the background. The rapper had also posted a story on Instagram of a selection of his designer
