Dane Cook is opening up about the time he had a “huge breakdown” on the day of his “Saturday Night Live” audition, eventually leading him to turn down the offer to join the sketch comedy show.
Recalling the audition on Daily Beast‘s “Last Laugh” podcast, Cook says he was called in to audition when the series was seeking a replacement for Adam Sandler for the 1998-1999 season.
The “SNL” team called Cook’s manager and said he was a perfect fit – all he needed to do was “go in front of Lorne Michaels” to seal the deal.
