Michael Barrymore has accused ITV producers of "abuse" behind the scenes of Dancing On Ice, amid the scandal currently plaguing rival BBC show Strictly Come Dancing.The comedian, 72, was set to appear on the 2019 series of Dancing On Ice but had to pull out after breaking his wrist during training.
And following allegations about the treatment of celebrity contestants Amanda Abbington and Zara McDermott on Strictly, Michael has claimed that he saw 'the same - if not worse' on Dancing On Ice.
He wrote on X: "I find it bewildering that BBC’s #strictly is the only production under fire this week when ITV’s Dancing On Ice treated their celebrities and dancers exactly the same - if not worse.
Even I witnessed abuse from producers at @ITV and I had a very short stint with them…" However, ITV hit back at Michael's claims with their own statement, telling MailOnline: "We do not recognise these unsubstantiated claims.
