Dancing On Ice' professional Sylvain Longchambon has admitted that the show winner Nile Wilson "had an advantage" after the ITV programme was embroiled in a fix row.
Olympic gymnast Nile, 27, proudly lifted the Dancing On Ice trophy with his professional skating partner Olivia Smart on Sunday night, as they beat TV personality Joey Essex and pro Vanessa Bauer to be crowned the winners.
But some viewers of the show were left fuming as they deemed Nile's professional gymnast abilities to have given him an unfair advantage over Joey, who shot to fame on The Only Way is Essex.
Speaking amid the fix row, ice skating pro Sylvain said: “Being a gymnast, he has a slight advantage because he probably knows better how to hold his body and is probably aware of his body. "At the end of the day, you get judged on the lines, your technique and performance in gymnastics. "He knows how to compete and he’s probably good under pressure. "In that sense, he might have a slight advantage.” Many show fans thought that Nile's routines were heavily-based around his gymnastic abilities, and he even made show history when he was the first male contestant to perform the dangerous headbanger trick.
