Nile Wilson and his skating partner Olivia Smart have been crowned the champions of Dancing On Ice after a dazzling final which saw a string of perfect scores.The Olympic gymnast saw off competition from reality star Joey Essex, who came second, and drag queen The Vivienne, who finished in third place, during Sunday’s grand finale.
Nile, 26, who is an athlete from Leeds, signed up for the skating show two years on from his retirement from professional gymnastics in January 2021, branding it an "unbelievable opportunity".
Here we take a look into Nile's life away from the ice... Nile, who hails from Leeds, is the great nephew of cricket legend Duncan Fearnley and started his gymnastics career aged five at Leeds Gymnastics Club.
He has won 11 medals throughout his career, including five gold medals at the Commonwealth Games, and in 2016 he became the first British gymnast to win the bronze medal at the horizontal bar event.
