Just days after Dana Carvey’s eldest son, Dex, died from a reported drug overdose, the comedian took to social media to thank friends, fans and those who knew Dex for “so many beautiful messages.” He went on, “My wife and I have been overwhelmed by your love, your personal stories, your compassion.” He then announced, “I will be taking a break from work and social media to figure out what life looks like now that we are a family of 3.
We will heal and carry on the best we can. Our darling Dex would have wanted it that way.” Carvey signed, “Much Love, Dana.” pic.twitter.com/r0ii4Vc47d On Wednesday, Carvey and wife Paula issued a statement that read in part, “Last night we suffered a terrible tragedy.
Our beloved son, Dex, died of an accidental drug overdose. He was 32 years old. “Dex packed a lot into those 32 years. He was extremely talented at so many things — music, art, film making, comedy — and pursued all of them passionately.” Dex Carvey opened for his father’s 2016 Netflix special, Straight White Male.
The former SNL catmember then shared a photo of he and his son.Dex and me working together. What a joy. pic.twitter.com/i7CXfpbSUg By providing your information, you agree to our Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy.
