Dan Walker has broken his silence after being cleared of allegations of misconduct following an investigation at Channel 5.The TV presenter - who joined Channel 5 in 2022 after quitting BBC Breakfast - was "completely exonerated" after a colleague's complaint led to a probe into his behaviour.

It was found that Dan, who is said to have cooperated fully with the investigation, had done nothing wrong. A Channel 5 spokesman said: "ITN commissioned an independent external expert to investigate these allegations but none were upheld." An investigator also stated: "There is a lack of evidence to support allegations." After the outcome was made official in March, Dan, 46, has now broken his silence on the subject in a new interview with The Telegraph.

He said: "I haven’t really talked about it, but that was fully investigated and everything was completely incorrect and I was entirely vindicated by an independent inquiry." He added: "So yeah, that’s not nice, but you hold on to what you know the truth is and ultimately the truth is the important thing." Dan continued to say he knows he's "not that person" before admitting that being under "scrutiny" is "difficult" and affected his home life.

While saying it is crucial the industry does come under scrutiny, he said it must remain correct and is "important that we hold on to what is true and what is right".
