Dale Hawerchuk was an NHL star who played for the Winnipeg Jets, Buffalo Sabres, St. Louis Blues, and Philadelphia Flyers.Hawerchuk played hockey all his life, having received his first pair of ice skates when he was two years old.

At 18, he joined the NHL as the first overall pick of the 1981 draft, chosen by the Winnipeg Jets. Hawerchuk played for the Jets for nine seasons, becoming a star of the NHL who is ranked among the greats of the 1980s alongside the likes of Wayne Gretzky and Paul Coffey.

In his rookie season, Hawerchuk became the youngest NHL player in history to score 100 points, and he was awarded the Calder Memorial Trophy as the league’s top rookie.
