The dad of a convicted rapist took to Facebook to launch into a lengthy rant after his son was found guilty by a jury following a trial.
Charles Goodwin, aged 21, was convicted on January 21 of raping two students and sexually assaulting another. The business management student, of Liverpool city centre but formerly of Salford, was told by a judge at Liverpool Crown Court to expect "a lengthy period of imprisonment”.
Liverpool Echo reports that Goodwin was found guilty of three charges of raping one student in Manchester and of assaulting her by penetration.
He was also found guilty of one charge of raping a student in Liverpool. The jury also convicted him of two offences of sexually assaulting a third student in Liverpool but cleared him of a sexual assault on a fourth student, also in Liverpool.Goodwin did not react when the jury returned their unanimous verdicts after just over six hours deliberations.But Goodwin's dad, also named Charles Goodwin, took to Facebook to rant about his rapist son's trial and conviction.After the jury announced they had reached a verdict Mr Goodwin Snr dad said: "'They have reached a verdict' don't think I've ever been more nervous in my life.
