A teenager fatally stabbed a dad in a flat in Wigan after a ‘confrontation’ at a social gathering, a trial has heard. Paul Marsh, 49, was at a friend's flat in Atherton with a number of other people, during which drugs and alcohol were taken, it was said.
Also at the flat was a then 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons. During the course of the afternoon, tensions between the two developed into an argument causing both to ‘square up to each other’, prosecutors allege. The wound severed a majority artery, and despite the best efforts of paramedics, he sadly died. The boy, now 17, is on trial at Minshull Street Crown Court.
