A dad has spoken of his horror after his son's school sent him a text wrongly claiming he was missing on his first day back.

The parent, who does not want to be named, claims that Kelvin Hall School in Kingston upon Hull, sent the erroneous text message on Thursday saying that his boy had not come to school and to provide a reason for his absence But as the dad knew his son had left home for school so the text, sent to him at 10.40am, left him in a state of anxiety as he worried about where his child was and if he had been harmed, Hull Live reports.

The family tried to call the school, but say that they could not get through for 30 minutes and that no voicemail could be left.
