A dad who died after testing positive for Covid-19 had begged not to be put in a coma because he feared he wouldn't wake up, his heartbroken fiancee says.

Leon Boase, 40, spoke to his longtime partner Nichola Jennison for the last time in a FaceTime call while he was being treated at James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough.
