Cyriel Dessers is Rangers' modern day Harald Brattbakk, but Ross McCormack insists he's nowhere near the biggest problem amid a MOUNTAIN of them at Ibrox. The Nigerian hit 20 goals last season and has hit three in his last three on his way to double figures already this term, but continues to be slated for the chances he doesn't take, with many fans feeling his goal return should be far higher than it is, and increased efficiency would see them much closer to Celtic.

But McCormack, who knows what it's like to lead the line for the Light Blues and bear the weight of fan's expectations, likens him to the Hoops' much-maligned Scandinavian who still managed to collect a league winners medal.

He told Record Sport 's evening live show Hotline LIVE: "You talk about strikers now. I've got a little bit of sympathy with Dessers because I like strikers who put themselves in those situations time and time again to miss the chances. "I go back to the year Celtic stopped Rangers getting 10-In-A-Row and there was a guy playing up front for Celtic called Harald Brattbakk.

He was similar; chance after chance he would miss, but he would never shy away. He put his body on the line, he would be in between six yard box waiting on those chances."The only thing with Dessers is he seems to be more of a reactive striker.
