Cyclist dies in hospital after horror crash

A pensioner has died after a horror crash in Trafford. The 80 year-old was riding his push bike on Charcoal Road in Bowdon when he collided with a Fiat 500 at the junction with the A56 Dunham Road.

Emergency services raced to the scene at around 3:40pm on Thursday May 28 and the man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

However the man, who is from Stockport but who has not been named, sadly died in hospital yesterday, Wednesday June 3, it has now been confirmed.

His family are being supported by specialist officers. The driver of the Fiat remained at the scene of the incident and has been assisting police with their investigation, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said today in a statament.
