Customers escaped death by inches after a runaway car ploughed through the front of a busy cafe while they ate breakfast. Ricky Garrett, 67, and his family had just moved to a warmer table when a red Kia Picanto suddenly smashed through the front window of the shop into the spot they had just been sitting.
Tables and chairs went flying, and teas and coffees spilled as the car ploughed through the cafe in Newbridge, Caerphilly, south Wales.
Multiple tables were smashed to pieces in the impact- but incredibly no one was seriously hurt. Ricky, a singer, said it was a miracle nobody was killed in the crash which missed a mother with a pram by inches and an elderly man by seconds.
