Cuckoo is looking at a $3+ million opening, not a Longlegs debut ($22 million) but on target for Neon’s Alpine-set horror starring Hunter Schafer and Dan Stevens.
R-rated Cuckoo by Tilman Singer opened at 1,503 theaters for 9th place at the domestic box office. Schafer is great as troubled 17-year-old Gretchen, who reluctantly leaves her American home after her mother dies to live with her father and his new family just as they move to a resort in the beautiful German Alps.
