Cuba Gooding, Jr. has reached a settlement with an unidentified woman who accused the actor of rape. The 55-year-old actor was set to go to trial this week, but ultimately settled out of court with the woman, according to Variety.

First reported in 2013, Cuba was accused of meeting the woman in his hotel room in New York City after meeting at a lounge.

The suit says that Cuba “began to undress in front of her and allegedly blocked the door, pushed her onto the bed and put his hands on her breasts and under her dress without consent.” He then reportedly “raped the woman vaginally and anally, despite her pleas for him to stop.” Cuba‘s attorney Mark Jay Heller denied the allegations in 2020 when the suit was filed. “We never received the complaint, but the allegations are completely false and perjurious,” he stated. “The contentions that he acted inappropriately in the complaint are completely inappropriate and untruthful.” The settlement comes just months after Cuba pleaded guilty to another assault charge.
