The end has come for Freeform series Cruel Summer and Good Trouble. The Disney-owned cable net has canceled Cruel Summer after two seasons and Good Trouble will end with the second half of its upcoming fifth season, Deadline has confirmed.
We hear Good Trouble will be given the opportunity to film some additional scenes for a supersized series finale episode to properly wrap up the series.
Season 5B premieres on January 2. The series were Freeform’s last remaining scripted originals following the November cancellation of animated comedy Praise Petey.
Set in an idyllic waterfront town in the Pacific Northwest, the final chapter of Cruel Summer followed the rise and fall of an intense teenage friendship.
